The OpenSpace-Online® conference system was developed as a Client/Server-concept based on the TCP/IP protocol. The heart of the system is a high-performance server, which, for example, uses the infrastructure of an Internet Service Provider or runs in a customer's internal network controlling the entire conference procedure. The server reads the configuration data for the respective conference, receives and distributes the data of the participants, is the central reference for time (synchronization) and all condition data (e.g. number and names of the participants, issues raised, current conference phase, etc.), and creates the extensive conference documentation. For the participants, the server runs invisibly in the background. The participants work only with the conference software, which presents the conference structure of the OpenSpace-Online® conference to them that runs in phases and takes care of the communication with the other participants (Clients) over the server in the background.Basically the entire conference system is designed in a way that makes it possible for people with a "basic" computer system and a stable Internet connection to participate synchronously. The communication protocol between the conference and the server software was especially optimized for this. The extensive graphics are already integrated into the conference software and must therefore not be transferred back and forth via Internet during the conference. The conference software can be downloaded comfortably from the Internet at any time free of charge prior to participation in a conference. Therefore a software package is available to the participants, which leaves nothing to be desired either in regard to the user interface and the performance or the communication speed. The conference software is also reusable in every respect. The user has only to download and to install the appropriate version once. Thus, the OpenSpace-Online® conference software can be opened and used again as many times as needed after transmission of the respective User ID’s, Secret-Code’s. In addition to technical advantages in regard to object-oriented development and the handling of Internet communication, a particular advantage is the fact that the software can be used in various operating systems and can be installed almost on any computer. The conference participants therefore do not necessarily have to have a Windows-operated computer system, but can also use a Unix, Linux, or Macintosh computer system. Participation was limited to 125 participants from a method's point of view. |

In order to achieve a high security standard for the organizer and the groups during an OpenSpace-Online® conference, first of all a secure conference access was provided, and second of all a high degree of data security was ensured. Only persons who have properly registered with the organizer can participate in the online conference. Access security to the OpenSpace-Online® conference is ensured by a personal User-ID. This ID is only valid for a certain conference. This provides secure authentication of the logged-on participant by the server. Each OpenSpace-Online® conference is additionally encoded. Each individual conference is assigned its own Secret-Code. This Secret-Code is used for encoding both the data transmission and the temporary saving of the documentation data by means of an secure encryption process - 448 Bit encoding is used. For comparison, 128 Bit encoding is usually used for Internet banking. Thus, the OpenSpace-Online® system offers its user groups a space in which no unauthorized participants intrude and no contents can be intercepted or saved – also NOT the OpenSpace-Online Company! In this context, the OpenSpace-Online® Code of Values should also be pointed out, which determines the framework for respectful communication between the conference participants. One can fundamentally assume that only those persons who are interested in the major theme of the conference are present in OpenSpace-Online® conferences, who have agreed to the Code of Values and maintain the etiquette within the conference in their own interest. If, however, there are violations against the Code of Values or the etiquette, every licensee or every organizer of an OpenSpace-Online® conference has the technical possibility via the OpenSpace-Online® Supervisor-Tool of preventing further participation immediately or even to abort the entire conference. |

The CURRENT Software Version supports 16 different language-codes. Participants from around the world are able to participate, IF they make sure that their computer system allow text inputs in one of the following language codes: |

| This means, that BEFORE you start the OpenSpace-Online® software in order to log-in you have to make sure that your computer system has the right language setting / configuration. Otherwise our conference system would not accept your password log-in. | ||||||||||||||||
